Whilst many folk were glued to TVs in and around pubs and bars in NYC and London (sorry it was a 1-1 draw), the Jubilee Symphony Orchestra performed at the First Baptist Church on W79th St and Broadway - a beautiful acoustic for classical music and speech.
It was an all-Mozart program that was well-received with his Violin Concerto No. 4 being the highlight. And no surprise why: the soloist was Canadian prodigy Judy Kang, just returned from touring as Lady Gaga's onstage virtuoso. As one concert participant reflected, her rendition of the Mozart was "flawless".
Oh, and for those who did attend - our encore was the Gavotte from "Masques and Bergamasques" by Gabirel Faure.
